TEN THIRTY TWOOREGON TRAIL · PUBLIC RECORD

Field notes · the making of a game

Every version
left a mark.

This is the public release history of Oregon Trail by Ten Thirty Two. The earliest versions were a project splash page. Later releases became a playable way to describe a real business issue and prepare a brief for a person to review.

How to read this record

A route built in public.

Each earlier entry summarizes a verified source revision and its deployed version. “Splash page” marks an early presentation milestone; “Game & service” marks later app changes. The notes describe what changed, not a promise that every feature was present from the beginning. Exact deployment times appear only where the underlying record supports them.

  1. VERSION20
Game & serviceIncluded with this release

    The theatrical workstage

Recast the campaign game as an original theatrical workstage with dark architecture, warm cue lighting, a readable question surface, and individually lit choices. A compact world selector, clear exit, and persistent human-contact action adapt to phones; scene cues respect reduced-motion settings.

Included in this rollout. Source revision and deployment receipt will be added after verification.

  2. VERSION19
    Game & service

    Campaign worlds and broadcast cuts

Added twenty original photorealistic generated scenes, one for each campaign world, with responsive crops and scene-specific props. A brief no-slide broadcast cut marks each campaign scene; game navigation now resets scroll and focus before paint, while disabling smooth document scrolling so Play enters directly. Story text and controls remain live HTML, and the original vector stage remains a fallback.

  10. VERSION11
    Game & service

A project brief in your own words

Clarified the site's business-intake purpose before play and added an open-ended issue response inside the journey, carried into an optional project brief. Visitors could skip the game to contact a person; submitting opened a private browser conversation rather than a login account.

  11. VERSION10
    Game & service

    Changing color-pixel scenery

Introduced original code-drawn scenes that change as the expedition reaches new landmarks, weather, river, and camp. A route ribbon made checkpoint progress visible inside the game.

  12. VERSION09
    Game & service

    Navigable map and checkpoints

Added west/east controls to the historical map, clickable reached checkpoints, and keyboard left/right navigation. Revising an earlier choice cleared later route answers so the summary could not mix incompatible paths.

  15. VERSION06
    Game & service

    Submission verification refinement

Moved the human-verification check ahead of duplicate-request acknowledgement and aligned the contact-form button wording. Gameplay was unchanged.

Source revision a64312cb91 · Deployment checked before publication of this record.

  16. VERSION05
    Game & service

    Playable business trail

Replaced the static splash with a playable five-decision business journey and original pixel artwork. Added an optional, consent-based project request stored privately in Cloudflare D1 behind Turnstile, validation, and daily limits; playing alone did not submit answers.

Source revision 999f454fec · Deployment checked before publication of this record.

  17. VERSION04
    Splash page

    Historical map poster

Rebuilt the splash as a full-page poster around a credited U.S. National Park Service historical map with a horizontally explorable phone view. The release still described the project as in development.
